«Hello! My name is Nadezhda, and I am Masha Balashova’s mother. She was 16 years old when she underwent her first surgery at MoveKind. Two years ago, I learned about the treatment methods used by Dr. Peter Bernius and his team in Germany. She also developed the ability to take side steps. She learned to stand with her feet shoulder-width apart. Before surgery, it was impossible for her to spread her legs apart, and when she walked, her legs would rub against each other until they bled. When walking, her feet stopped turning inward, her knees became straighter, and she developed a heel-to-toe rolling motion. The crossing of her legs disappeared, and the deformity of her knees improved. She learned to walk on her knees at a higher level and can stand in a half-kneeling position with support. She learned to step over obstacles, developed many new movements, and can now squat without support. Throughout the entire recovery period, Dr. Bernius’s team stayed in contact with us, answered all our questions, and supported us. I would recommend that other parents of children with cerebral palsy do not postpone consultation and necessary treatment, because recovery is easier and the results are much better at a younger age.
